Wits Bird Club looks after local matters, and organises lectures, field outings and other excursions. The central office looks after administrative, national and international matters.

New Members

Membership is for a 12-month period from the date of receipt of payment and is renewable annually.

The club welcomes new members, and no particular knowledge of birds is necessary.

The Club undertakes outings to which all levels of birders are welcome. Details of these appear in a supplement to each edition of the Bokmakierie, are emailed weekly to members and are loaded as events on our facebook page.  Bookings are essential and may be made with Lauraine Leigh, our Club Secretary,  EMAIL

Thursday Evening  Meetings

Due to the COVID 19 Pandemic, meetings are currently being held via ZOOM.  Details are published in the Weekly Reminder which is emailed to all our members.

The Club runs beginners’ courses and other specialist courses each year.

The Club produces a magazine, Bokmakierie, three times a year. This magazine not only provides articles of local interest, but also advises members of outings, courses and lectures. Contributions and advertising are welcome from all members.
